House Hunting

We’ve been trying to buy a house now for nearly two years. Before Loganwas born, we looked around just to see what was on the market. We surfed the net, peeped in windows, and made a list of “needs” and “wants”. Right when we were starting to get serious in our search, we got the call aboutLogan and things were put on the back burner. Since he’s been here, we’ve been so busy with “everything baby” that we have just started to get back around to looking.

Today we are going to look at a few houses that we’ve been considering. It’s so hard to find just what you want without having to sacrifice something huge. It seems like everything around here that is really nice is on a hill with no yard. We’re willing to do some work on a house so long as it is a big enough house with a yard. That doesn’t seem unreasonable, does it? Yet, surprisingly they are few and far between. This is the house that we are planning on making our home. We aren’t planning on moving again. So this is IT and we are being pretty picky in what we find.

Here goes nothing. It’s going to be an adventure, for sure. I’m excited about finally having our OWN place (not to mention all of the money that will be going somewhere aside from someone else’s pocket). We’re really excited about one of the houses we are looking at tonight, but we’ve learned not to get our hopes up too high on any home until the papers are signed.

I’m a little sad about leaving the house we are currently living in—it’s where we brought Logan home, where he slept in his bed for the first time, where he took his first steps….so many firsts here. I know this is for the best and our new house will have those memories as well. It’s just a little bittersweet.
