Yesterday we received a text message from my friend who has the pregnant cousin considering adoption. Apparently abortion is completely out of the question. This is, of course, great news. Not only for us but for everyone involved. No matter what happens in the end, I’m glad that she ruled this out.
The mother is “dead set” (in my friends words) on going to college in the fall and already has one child. She will have to live on campus. This isn’t something that she can do with a new baby as well. She’s a single mom right now already…and really struggles.
She has been having cramps and is scheduled to see the doctor this morning. She could be having a miscarriage. She could be stressing herself out. We’ll have to see what they say. Everyone is treading lightly in case her stress is stressing the baby and thus causing the cramps.
We’ll see what happens. Right now that’s all we can do.
As far as the DFCS world goes…we have all of our paperwork turned in and ready to go. AND the CW says that she has it all this time as well!!! LOL! The CW should call anyday to set up the interview portion of the homestudy. Or should I say…we’ll end up calling her? 🙂 It shouldn’t be long now, nevertheless.
It’s been a long road. A long road lined with pages and pages (and pages and pages) of paperwork. I may have crooked hands in my old age from all of the writing…but at least we’ll have our child. 🙂
